One Fabulous Day …. in London!
Art and English …. all day long
This past Saturday, 6 July 2013, a group of us went to London for a day of art and English.
Together we saw work by prominent Swiss German artist Dieter Roth exhibited at the Camden Arts Centre, sculptures by Mexican artist Damiàn Ortega in the house that was Sigmund Freud’s home in the late 1930s, paintings, sculptures and installations, including works by Tauba Auerbach, Ned Verna, Josh Smith and Albert Oehlen, displayed in a former Methodist chapel that today belongs to Mr. and Mrs. Zabludowicz.
We continued on to London’s West End to visit galleries in Mayfair. There we saw the latest video works by American artist Bill Viola at Blain Southern’s impressive gallery, tapestries by Gerhard Richter shown in Gagosian’s Mayfair space and, finally, historical works by American artist Donald Judd in New York gallery David Zwirner’s recently opened London venue.
